L.I.F.E. Groups
L.I.F.E. Groups is an acronym for “Live in Faith Everyday.” These small groups are the lifeblood of the church and the life of discipleship. It is within these groups where everyday life meets with the walk of faith. These groups study God’s Word, talk about it and its intersection with our lives, and uphold one another in Christian love. Take a look below at the various groups we have, and if interested in becoming part of one, let us know!
Sunday Morning LIFE Groups |
10:00am-10:45am |
Basic
This Life Group is a group of young adults seeking to grow deeper in their faith. This class is led by Erica Tilley and Steve Bouwknegt. This group meets in the Connection Center in the Discipleship Room.
New Horizons L.I.F.E. Group
A long-standing and active Life Group, New Horizons has grown from a group of high school classmates to an eclectic and multi-age group of earnest but sincere believers. Studies range from traditional to topical and the class regularly participates in Church and civic projects. All are welcome and new ways of thinking are encouraged. This group meets in the Connection Center in the Pathways Room.
Pairs and Spares L.I.F.E. Group
A group composed of ages “50 to full maturity”, this Life Group is led by Tom Cross, with assistance from the members. Pairs and Spares has been in existence since 1955 and its members are quite active in the Church’s ministries. Members of this class honor its late teacher, Charles Stuck, with a scholarship for Church Youth members to further their education. In addition, they support local community needs and the Church’s Youth program. Their prayer chain phone line is a key prayer ministry for all. Curriculum studied in this class is the Adult Bible Study from Cokesbury. They meet in the Connection Center in Genesis Room.
Prime Time Christians L.I.F.E. Group
This group began in 1980 as the SUMones (Single United Methodist Ones). Over the years, the name has been changed to Prime Time Christians and their philosophy is that whatever time of life you’re in, it’s the “prime time”. Ages range from 25 to 92 and include more than one generation of several families. The class meets together for summer cookouts, birthday and anniversary celebrations and an annual Christmas party in members’ homes. Prime Time Christians meet in the main building in the Choir Room.
Scriptures L.I.F.E. Group
The Scriptures Life Group is taught by members of the class on a rotating basis using the Adult Bible Studies series from our own Church library as well as other studies that interest the class. They support local causes financially and have an email ministry among their members. They meet on Sunday mornings in the Good Shepherd Room of the Connection Center. The members are mostly very young at 65+. Several members compose the Light Maintenance Team, a group that assists with repairs of the Church buildings along with lots of fellowship.
