Jesus set for us an example of the kind of love we are to have for the world. He healed the sick, fed the hungry, and ate with sinners. He welcomed all into his presence, particularly those who were marginalized in society. Our church believes we are called to love as God loves and serve others as if we were serving Jesus himself. Mother Teresa said it well, “It is Christ you tend in the poor. It is his wounds you bathe, his sores you clean, his limbs you bandage. See beyond appearances; hear the words Jesus pronounced long ago. They are still operative today: What you do to the least of mine, you do it to me…” We are honored to be part of the Body of Christ and are always seeking ways to further God’s kingdom here in the community of Jacksonville. Below are some ways we are involved in living the Gospel in our community.

The Sew -N- Sew group usually meets on Thursdays and Fridays from 9am-3pm, (come and go as you can), in the UMCOR Room of the Connection Center. If you don’t sew there are always other things that need done to help on projects.
